A Bit of Background
Mission
Holy Cross Brooklyn Outreach Center (HCBOC) is a nonprofit organization serving New York families and individuals in need. Its goal is to provide holistic care that addresses physical, emotional and spiritual needs in order to improve economic and social well-being.
Who We Are
We are Pan-Orthodox Christians who help underserved New Yorkers in our community.
What We Currently Do
Midnight Run-We go into the city once a month delivering food--90,000 meals since 2008
Outreach on the Go-We deliver home made food and groceries--Elderly, disabled, and families living below the poverty line--BY THE WAY, if you know anybody, please send us recommendations.
What We Want To Accomplish
Short Term- We want to foster stronger ties within the orthodox community to make a positive impact.
Long Term- Now that we have opened a physical HCBOC center where all people in need can come to us, we want to expand our offerings to better serve each other.
Our History
Since March of 2008, Greek Orthodox Christians across Brooklyn have been conducting monthly Midnight Runs to bring food, clothing and toiletries to homeless New Yorkers. These community efforts, under the spiritual leadership of Fr. Gerasimos Makris – the pastor of Holy Cross Church and a priest in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, inspired a group of Orthodox philanthropists to work towards a more comprehensive commitment to those in need. Thus in 2013, HCBOC was established as a charitable organization open to all communities in order to promote philanthropy throughout the New York area.

Midnight Run
Come join us once per month in our kitchen in the basement of Holy Cross Church Bayridge at 8pm to make sandwiches ~ we'll go out to deliver them together to our underserved community in the city!
Dates & Info
If interested in volunteering for the Midnight Run, please either register below or email us with your desire to volunteer. We'll meet at 8 pm in the basement of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church to make sandwiches and leave together to go into Manhattan at 9:30 pm.
